この大型の標本は、近年特に草食恐竜（ステゴサウルスやアンキロサウルスなど）が新種を含め多数発見されているBoulemane地域の
Boulahfaエリアの物です。
このエリアのデポジットは、近年更にいくつか細分化されジュラ紀中期のEl mers、ジュラ紀後期、白亜紀前期の地層が露出するEl Atchane
など、まだ他にもありますが、このBoulahfaエリア一帯では草食恐竜のみならず、獣脚類の足跡も見つかっており、モロッコではジュラ紀にも獣脚類が生息していたと考えられています。
さて、この標本ですが、残念ながらBoulahfaの、どの地層からという情報はありません…
一応、年代は白亜紀のカルカロドントとしていますが、どうでしょうか、年代、種も含めて今後の研究が楽しみです。
標本はKemKemなどの地層と違い、モロモロと崩れやすいらしく崩れた歯を保存剤で固めています。
これはこれで、産出状態の雰囲気があって私は好みです。
Boulahfaエリアの獣脚類の歯は、世界的にもほとんど流通していない非常に貴重なものかと思います。
